Moments in Austria.
Austria has been one of the most surprising places I’ve ever been. We didn’t initially set out to go there, but it ended up making its way into our plans after we decided we wanted a less “city-centric” place to visit. When flying into Salzburg, we walked off the plane, onto the tarmac just to be met with the most striking views of the Alps. The view invaded our senses, along with the most fresh smell of blooming flowers (I’m not even kidding). It was so hard to process in the moment how spectacular it was, and it was just the beginning.
I’ll spare you all the details, but know that Salzburg is magical. Cobblestone, winding streets. Locals biking along the rushing, glacial river. Local shop owners getting some fresh air outside their door. Gardens of native flowers and greens. An ancient fortress looking over the city. And finally the blue, snow-topped Alps towering all around us.
Every time I go knew places, I make a google map folder of all the stores, restaurants, and coffee shops I loved; so I’ll link it here! Meanwhile — enjoy these photos of Salzburg + St.Gilgen, Austria.
